Team communications, diversity & values clarification

Communications - Our differences are our strengths. A diversity of perspectives gives a highly functional team a more realistic view of the world. We use DISC profiles to assess the team members and compare and contrast to help value other points of view. It is an enlightening and uplifting event that culminates in exercises underway. The hands on experience creates unforgettable memories and significantly shifts individual paradigms.
Leadership characteristics assessment and development

Leadership - Leaders come in all sizes and shapes, many different styles, and personalities. What all great leaders have in common are specific characteristics that garner trust from others, clearly communicate objectives and consequences, and demonstrate a great capacity for empathy. Leaders seek first to understand, then insure they are understood. They are masters at giving others a voice, creating ownership and passion for the task at hand. They understand and face reality. Then we take to the water where the team practices the skills and see first hand, the difference great leadership skills can make.
Team planning and execution processes

Team execution - Planning is easy. Finding the time and recourses to do the important when the urgent is so pressing, seems impossible. We show participants how to execute in spite of the daily whirlwind. The boat is a perfect lesson in priorities. It teaches these lesson minute by minute, in and atmosphere that is intensely urgent and important at the same time.
Business development and the role of social networking and service to others

Lead generation and social networking - Networking is not about what's in it for me. It is a pay it forward process. To be a great networker you must be driven to be of service to others. Heartfelt endorsements only happen when we consistently put others first. Business development practices centered on service to others are the single most defining behaviors a leader can bring to the market. Be know by your network for what you do, not what you sell. The boat is the perfect laboratory to practice and hone these skills.
