About the Cat Ballou

Catamaran Charter

Along the way home we decided to start Cat Ballou Inc. An attempt to mix business and pleasure. Sailing and business consulting. It has been interesting and challenging. Our other business, Business Development Systems LLC is consulting firm specializing in innovative leadership. We have been using Cat Ballou for corporate retreats since the summer of 2000. It has turned out to be a great venue for business consulting, strategic planning, team building, and bonding. Several of our consulting clients use Cat Ballou for marketing events

Whether your needs are for corporate services or personal adventures, we like to think we do among the best in both arenas. We would be happy to show you the boat, talk with you on the phone, or let you speak with our clients if you are interested in an adventure on Cat Ballou.

Boat Particulars

Cat Ballou is spacious comfortable boat, with room to stretch out. She will accommodate you in style and grace. She is capable of great speed but is at her best cruising in the low teens. Our main salon provides spacious seating for meals with a varnished teak table that folds in half when not in use. She has full cooking facilities, and equipment, a large refrigerator on board and a 40 quart ice chest. The cock pit table seats 8. See our line drawing for a better idea of the layout.

Boat Captain and Crew

The Captain & Crew

Captain Chuck is the owner of Cat Ballou. He bought her in St. Martin in 1998. Then, with family and friends he sailed her back to San Francisco through the Panama Canal. It was an adventure of a lifetime. Chuck is a U.S. Coast Guard Master with a 50 ton rating. Cat Ballou is his 8th sailboat. He grew up in the Midwest, dreaming of one day owning his own boat.

David Walker (AKA Ruffin) is the 1st mate on Cat Ballou. The boat doesn't move without him. He is the boats pilot when we're underway. Ruffin is on Cat Ballou every day. The boat requires daily maintenance to stay at her best for our guests. Ruffin is long time resident of the Bay area, and can spin yarns with the best if he has a chance.
